Description

Departure at 7:30 AM from your accommodation in Marrakech in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle heading south through the spectacular landscapes of the Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you'll pass through picturesque Berber villages built of adobe and reach the legendary Tizi n'Tichka pass, which peaks at 2,260 meters. A stop is scheduled to admire the breathtaking panoramic views over the High and Anti-Atlas mountains.

Your first major stop will be the Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. This architectural gem of southern Morocco will transport you through centuries of history. On-site, a local guide will lead you through the fortified village, sharing its rich history and showing you the stunning views over the El Maleh riverbed.

After the visit, you'll continue to Ouarzazate, known as the "Gateway to the Desert", where you'll discover two major landmarks:

  • Kasbah Taourirt, the former residence of Pasha El Glaoui, located in the city center.

  • Kasbah Tifoultoute, perched on a rocky outcrop 8 km away, overlooking the Ouarzazate valley.

Both kasbahs stand as a testament to the glory of the Glaoui dynasty and the architectural ingenuity of the southern Moroccan people.

Lunch is not included in the excursion, but you will have the opportunity to dine in one of the local restaurants in Ouarzazate.

In the late afternoon, we’ll begin the journey back to Marrakech. On the return, take in the magical views of the sunset over the Atlas Mountains — the perfect ending to a day rich in discovery.
